Craigslist Scam!
I am getting ready to move this month, and looking at a million different places to potentially move into. I found an adorable condo that was my front runner until this morning. I was paroozing through Craigslist and found this house that had a pool, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and was huge. It was about the same price as the 2 bedroom condo so I thought I'd hit the jackpot! I ecstatically sent the listing out to my new roomie and she gave me kudos for such a find! The email from the "property owner" said that they were in London but we were more than welcome to check out the property and if we were interested to let them know and we could proceed. I planned to do a drive-by tonight and see what I thought. Well.. I told my co-worker about the house and she said it seemed a little sketchy. That made me think... so I did a little research and found the same house listed on MLS for $600/month more. AND there was a listing agent. So.. I called the listing agent and he said that someone stole his pictures off the Internet and has been scamming people through Craigslist. Apparently, he knew of 5 people who had sent this person a money order to London and will never see it again. I can't believe that people can be so awful!!

No bueno....Sucky sucky! I live in a condo now in Scottsdale that I found on Craigslist. But I met with the owner that same day. I set the ultimatum not the other way around that usually works :) Good luck!

Be careful! Someone got beat-up and robbed because he tried to buy a bike from some craigslist scammer. Ugh, I hate craigslist these days!

Misty,

Read 7 posts now. I am so happy that you are having good time. May God keep blessing you always with all the happiness. It is so good that you work best under stress. I should tell this to your Boss so he ( or is it she ) keeps you on toes always. Toes remind me, nice manicure. There is a lot of fraud on net, you are lucky to have escaped being taken for a ride. Be careful.

Take care

PS : You look very cute in that red dress. God bless you.

Ugh! This scam is one of the many reasons why I don't use Craigslist anymore for anything! Bad people ruin it for the good ones.
