My Newest Obsession..
My Best friend asked me to go to yoga with her while she was in town a few weeks ago, and I fell in love. I wish that when I was a baby someone kept streching me out so I never lost that flexibility!! Going to yoga forces you to relax, and take time for yourself. The breathing and stretching leave you feeling so much stronger, happier and healthier. My average run time for hobbies is about 2 months so .. since I just bought a year long contract, thins one better be different.
Some cute quotes...
If I'm losing balance in a pose, I stretch higher and God reaches down to steady me. It works every time, and not just in yoga. ~T. Guillemets
Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured. ~B.K.S. Iyengar

My Love Language
What is the secret to a happy healthy relationship? Friendship? Money? Love? Laughter? .... If I knew some secret formula I am sure that I would be a multi millionaire by now. I remember a long time ago I heard about the 5 love languages: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service and Physical touch. This book described how everyone speaks and receives love in a different language. This theory intrigues me because, a person could be constantly giving love in a language their partner doesn't speak. Since learning this concept, I have tried to figure out each person in my life's love language. And looking back to past relationships,.. this makes soo much sense! This is the description the book gives for my love languages:
Words of Affirmation
Actions don’t always speak louder than words. If this is your love language, unsolicited compliments mean the world to you. Hearing the words, “I love you,” are important—hearing the reasons behind that love sends your spirits skyward. Insults can leave you shattered and are not easily forgotten.
Physical Touch
This language isn’t all about the bedroom. A person whose primary language is Physical Touch is, not surprisingly, very touchy. Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face—they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial, while neglect or abuse can be unforgivable and destructive.
It's funny how different relationships bring to light different aspects of your personality. You could be a completely secure person, then meet that one person who "brings out your crazy" as I like to say. The dynamics of your personality can fluctuate depending on your partner. For example, I have been called "Needy" by every guy I have ever dated except for one. That one person, happened to be an "affirmation" person. I never wanted for the kind of affection that made me fully content and "not-needy".
I challenge you to look at the relationships in your life, that you consider to be "difficult" or "strained". Think about how you show those people love, and how they might actually receive it.
Love is the most powerful thing in the world.. So do it everyday to the best of your ability!

My Alabaster Story
Once Jesus was dining in the house of Simon, a Pharisee, when a woman “known in the city to be a sinner” approached him. Again, no words were spoken, but there was plenty to observe. “She brought an alabaster case of perfumed oil, and, taking a position behind at [Jesus’] feet, she wept and started to wet his feet with her tears and she would wipe them off with the hair of her head. Also, she tenderly kissed his feet and greased them with the perfumed oil.” Jesus recognized what all of this meant. And even though Simon did not say anything, Jesus was able to discern that he was saying within himself: “This man, if he were a prophet, would know who and what kind of woman it is that is touching him, that she is a sinner.”( Luke 7:36-48)
To me, this is the most powerful story in the bible. This story demonstrates, in my opinion, the church versus who God is. The Church, sees the woman in this story as a sinner, and is appalled that Jesus is allowing her to even touch him. When in actuality this woman spent all of her money to buy expensive perfume just to clean the feet of Jesus! Her sacrifice and emotion is so real, and raw in this story. The past few years, I have had what Christians refer to as a "Crisis of Faith". I on the other hand, disagree. I liken "becoming a christian" to a new couple. In the beginning, it is all butterfly's and excitement. You believe everything that person says because, you are in complete awe with them and you want to trust them. As you get to know that person better, you find out what they really stand for, and what their strengths and weaknesses are.
When I first became a christian, I shouted the gospel from rooftops, to anyone who would listen. I trusted my church and pastor with my life, and believed everything that they ever said. I believed that I knew everything because I had "Divine Knowledge" of God. I was right, and everyone else in the world was wrong. The people who studied religion for their whole lives knew less than me because, they did not believe that Christianity was the way to heaven. I honestly was afraid for every ones salvation. It was MY duty to save everyone I knew from hell. I once had a dream that I was sitting in the bleachers with everyone I had ever known, and somehow I knew the world was ending in 1 hour. I ran from person to person in the bleachers trying to tell them all about God, and how he died for them, and if they just say the sinners prayer, they could go to heaven with me. This dream molded the way I lived out my Christianity. While my intentions were pure, I think you can agree misguided.
I experienced real moments of Ecstasy in worship and prayer, but was always quick to find a label for my emotions and explain it by way of evangelism. I do not discount the moments in my life where I have truly felt gods hand, or experienced something greater than myself. However, My relationship with God, has matured over time.
I have learned the flaws of the church, their people, and where to put my trust. And most of all, I have learned, how little I really know about God, Life and Religion in general. My ignorance and close mindedness imbarisses me to this day. As I continue on my lifelong journey of knowledge and experiances, I hope that I always keep an open mind, and an accepting heart.
And like the woman in this story, I hope that as the world struggles to "Define" my religion and relationship with God, I care only what HE thinks.

If you knew that you would never have your heart broken or be betrayed, imagine how much deeper you would be able to love and be loved. If you knew without a doubt that you would be prosperous and successful, imagine the weight that would be lifted, and the way you would embrace challenges, and life in general. I think this is the way we were intended to feel and live but life jades and changes us. So what is smarter? To live life with a trusting and open heart? Or, to live life careful and protected? What is better.. having a life filled with moments of perfect happiness accompanied by perilous sorrow? Or, would it just be better to live on an even guild and just experience average emotional peaks?? I feel like I have a trigger that goes off in me when ever I feel anything above average.. that says.. "MISTY! Analyze the situation... find the root of your emotion and control it!" I spend more time trying to control my emotions that I do actually experiencing them.
It is a truly helpless feeling when you know you cannot control your emotions.. In the "dating world" people always accuse the opposite sex of playing games. I don't know that I would agree that is what is actually happening. I think in most cases one person will feel themselves falling too hard, or they will feel that helplessness, and immediately they put up some wall. The wall can be manifested in many ways, for people to misconstrue as "games". I put up walls to protect myself because I am the only person who knows how fragile I actually am. Almost every guy I have dated has told me at some point that I am shut down emotionally or too tough. That image is important to me because I feel like if I put it out there, I will constantly hear the positive reinforcement that I am what I really struggle with being.
I struggle with acting on my fleeting emotional peaks and valleys in rash and immature ways, which logic tells me is wrong. I hope that one day my emotions will be healthy enough that I no longer need to spend so much time molding and controlling the way I react to them. I think that would bring me a lot closer to the way I am intended to experiance life love and happines...

About Me
Here is the basics... My name is Misty. No, I am not a stripper.. just got lucky with a super sexy name ;) ha ha. I am 24 years young, and I love my life. My Mom is my rock, and my inspiration. My family and friends are the most important thing to me. I have an amazing boyfriend, Ryan. He was my best friend for about 2 years and we just started dating in November. He makes my heart smile :) I could not be happier with where my life's lead me.
I started blogging because I needed an outlet. I constantly have random/funny/embarrassing stories that I find entertaining so thought I should share. My grammar is questionable, and I write the way I talk.. choppy and exaggerated.
In High school I was a bible beating Christian. I am talking evangelical, prayer warrior, over the top Christian. In my early twenties, I developed a much more evolved outlook on life and religion. I believe in God. The rest in neither here nor there.
I am a thrill seeking, instant gratification, self aware, smart girl. I love beauty, individuality, confidence, and humility. This is me in nutshell... Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am a comment whore so please become a notch on my blog bed post. ;)

Best NYE Ever!
This New Years Eve was the best I have ever had. We went up to Pinetop AZ, and stayed in a cabin for the weekend. We had a party bus pick us up and take us to the most po-dunk dive bar you could imagine. We rolled up with about 10-15 people and partied our faces off. We made friends and danced with all the creepy locals, got drunk then went home and played Wii bowling. I started off 2010 with a boy I love, and truly amazing friends. Can't wait for what the rest of the year holds.

Adios 2009!
Tomorrow is the much anticipated end to 2009....
I never set new years resolutions because, I have never in my life upheld any of them. I almost think that making a resolution is ensuring that it will not come to pass. It may also be that my resolution is always to be skinnier, richer, or fall in love with Mr. Right. .. sadly, ya probably in that order.. ha ha!!
In 2009, I have seen people very close to me loose loved ones; my family has been overwhelmed with serious illness; friends have been in accidents; and I have lost touch with people I love for dumb reasons. I am realizing that at the end of the day all that really matters are the people in your life, and how you treat them. I want everyone in my life to know how much I love them at all times... that is my resolution for 2010. Oh and I need to figure out a way to get Claudia and I in the same state!
Adios 2009, You have taught me that...sometimes things have to fall apart so better things can come together.

“If you should die before me, ask if you could bring a friend.”
The strong, man eating, un- effected Misty is no longer,.. I for the first time, found someone that I trust with my heart so I am okay with giving it. My best friend was the man I respected most in this world. I adored him for who he was, how he treated all the people in his life, and how much fun we had together. I always knew he was cut from a different, more pristine mold than anyone else I had known but never to the extent I do now. The only way to explain how I feel is.. When I was in high school I was really involved with my church, and had a strong relationship with God. There was this fleeting euphoric feeling that I would get during worship or prayer. It was this overwhelming feeling of being loved, not alone, and apart of something much greater than yourself. That is how I have felt every second since I started dating Ryan. I think every girl hopes to find a guy that she gets excited to wake up to in the morning, makes her feel special, and makes her laugh. Not only have I found what I always thought I wanted but also, what I never even knew I needed.

It does not feel like Christmas this year at all. I am going to force myself into the spirit today. I'm talking Xmas music, ALL DAY for starters, and secondly, I am going to emerge myself in last minute Xmas shopping at the busiest mall in the city. Yep, that should do it! After a crazy, stressful week.. everything is finally calming down and I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am feeling very grate full for all my friends and family and ready to have a few days of work to spend time with them. OK Christmas... get ready for Miss Misty.. cuz she is no longer boycotting you! :)

The Good with the Bad

The past two weeks have been the best followed by the worst time of my life! Beginning with the good... I have fallen head over heels for my best friend in the world. I have been walkin on Cloud 9 every day... I'm sparing you the corny lushings of how happy I am.. yes, your welcome. Then, as if some cosmic adjustment occurred to level out the good and the bad on my life Tuesday happened! I started getting really sick at work and went home early. On my way to Ryans house, I got pulled over for not stopping long enough at a stop sign. Turns out, my license was suspended - to find later for missing a traffic survival class. The officer, towed and impounded my car, and took my drivers license. I am without car or license ever since. As the week progressed, so did my fever and stress levels. Poor ry had to taxi me around and take care of me all week.
Dear cosmic adjuster..... you suck, cops suck, and I hate you...Sincerely, Misty

Story Time...

2 Summers ago... Me and my best friend Claudia were sitting by the pool deciding where we should vacation next. We had just done Aruba, Vegas, & LA and felt it was time for our next adventure. We randomly decided on Ibiza, Spain which I knew VERY little about. We booked the hotel and flights that day and put up our My Space countdowns! I told my boyfriend at the time that we were going and he told me about a million story's about Ibiza. He had been a few times and raved about it. He told me that the sangria there was the best in the world, and that all day there was music playing from the greatest DJ's in the world.. The clubs were more elaborate than anything I could imagine.. and that they partied until noon the next day! The story's went on and on and on... not to mention everyone who we told about our upcoming trip had instant Vacation envy. I'm not gunna lie.. we felt pretty bad ass! Fast forward to vacation Day!!! We partied all night then staggered to the airport hungover and ready to sleep for our 11 hour flight to London. We landed in Heathrow.. took a train to Gatwick.. Flew to Barcelona.. then Ibiza (PHEW!) FINALLY.. we land in Ibiza and I cannot even put into words how excited we were. We went to get our luggage .. Claudia's first bag came.. then her second.. then her third.. and No Misty bags! (FML) I had to file a claim to get my bags back, and I was so angry. I couldn't help but resent the fact that all 3 of Claud's bags made it and none of mine.. ha ha. Begrudgingly, we went to hail a taxi and go settle into our hotel. As we went outside we found out that all the taxi's in Ibiza were on strike. There was ONE bus still running however, it only took us half way into town. We hopped on that bus hoping that we could figure something out. The bus dropped us off in the middle of no where.. in completely deserted streets. We rolled the luggage we had over cobble stone streets from 12-1am completely lost, and then as if one more slap from the big guy, it started raining. Now.. I had lost it! I found a police station and went in to beg for a ride and shelter. When the officer looked at me he said in his accent "Americans eh?" and laughed. Yah officer.. ha ha.. really funny.. Ive been walking in boots and a dress in the rain for an hour.. laugh it up! The officers drove us to the end of their jurisdiction line and said we had to walk 1 more mile to the hospital because that's the only place taxi's would pick up. Blah Blah Blah.. Finally make it to the hospital, get a cab, pay about 100 euros to get to our hotel and the place is locked! Claudia and I, had left over travel snacks for dinner (Frito's, bean dip, gushers, and Chips), and passed out on the hotels door way until the morning..
The rough arrival was followed by one of the most memorable, fun trips I had ever been on! My luggage arrived the next night, and we wasted no time hitting the streets. I honestly think my favorite part about Ibiza was the shopping, and LOONNGG lunches. We would go to lunch at some cute cafe, and within an hour we would have 10 new friends at our table... Lunches lasted a minimum of 4 hours, and was always concluded with a coffee spiked with booze! Claudia and I, accidently booked the trip off season (Doh).. so we didnt really get the full experiance of the party scene but If what we saw was only half of it.. I dont think I could handle on season.. Ok, ya i could :) A second trip to Ibiza is on the To Do List!
